Character work taken seriously, taught playfully
Jasomel builds practical knowledge of acting character creation through interactive quizzes and scenario-based exercises — rooted in Vinnytsia, accessible far beyond it.
Where the platform started and what it actually does
Jasomel launched in 2021 with a specific gap in mind — most acting education online focused on theory. Character construction, the craft of building a believable persona from scratch, was covered in lectures but rarely tested in a format that gave immediate, honest feedback.
The platform uses quiz mechanics and scenario-based exercises to stress-test character knowledge. A learner might be asked to justify a character's motivation in 3 different emotional states, or identify inconsistencies in a given backstory across 8 questions.
All exercises are anchored to principles from Stanislavski's method and Meisner technique — not as doctrine, but as reference points participants can argue with. That friction is deliberate.
What the teaching approach actually looks like
Daryna has led curriculum development since the beginning, drawing on 9 years of stage work and directing experience. Her approach to character creation centers on contradiction — a character's internal logic must hold even when their behavior seems irrational to the audience.
Each module on the platform reflects that philosophy. Participants don't just learn what a character archetype is — they're asked to build one under constraints, then stress-test it against opposing scenarios until it either breaks or holds.
